FAQ

What exactly is it made of?

Our Kamino Wallets are made of Cordoba Paper - Latex-laced washable paper fabric that is developed and made in Japan. It has a smooth surface and feels almost like leather.

Similar to the material used for labels on jeans - it is also sometimes also called washable craft paper.
The material is strong against tears even while wet but is NOT waterproof. If it gets wet, it will dry quickly and stay in good shape.

The cordoba paper does not contain per- or polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs).

Is it made of recycled material?

No. Though, it is recyclable and biodegradable like ordinary paper.

Is it Tyvek?

No. Tyvek is made of 100% high-density polyethylene fibers which are essentially plastic. Whereas our material, washable Paper, is a genuine paper that consists of natural materials and is biodegradable.

Is it RFID blocking?

No.

Does it work with ID scanners?

Yes, there are a lot of ways in which you can keep an ID card that will work. However, depending on the compatibility of each card they may interfere with each other.

For example, some Metro cards and ID cards don't seem to work well together.

How long will it last?

It depends on how you use it, but it will last years if you treat it like a normal wallet. The material is washable so it will survive some accidental machine washes too.

However, when it gets dirty, we recommend that it is cleaned by soaking it in water and washing gently by hand or with a toothbrush. This will extend the longevity of the product.
